Respiratory viral illness (RVI) refers to any illness caused by a virus that primarily affects the respiratory system, such as the common cold, flu, COVID-19, and other similar infections.

Effective August 5, 2023, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) ended the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for healthcare workers. Healthcare workers are no longer required to obtain COVID-19 vaccination.
Clinical students may be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to their clinical site. Students that have a deeply held religious belief preventing them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine can submit a COVID-19 vaccine religious exception form via TrackMy. The form will be reviewed by the Office of Student Experience. Responses will be sent via TrackMy.
Students who need a COVID-19 vaccine should schedule an appointment with Student Health Service via MyChart or by calling: 909-558-8770.
Student Health Service provides care to students who are located in the state of California. Students located outside California should consult their primary care provider (PCP) in their home state.
Students should stay home if they have any of the following symptoms (not including a chronic medical condition such as migraines, asthma, IBS/colitis, or premenstrual syndrome):
COVID-19 testing is available to all students through Student Health Service by making an appointment with one of our clinicians.
