The field of Child Life is expanding and becoming more competitive. While its roots are traditionally in hospitals, an increasing number of Child Life Specialists are using their specialized skills to support children and families in a variety of settings, such as outpatient healthcare facilities, doctors' offices, hospice care, specialized camps, schools, court systems, and funeral homes.

Graduates from the counseling degree program upon completion of 3,000 hours of supervised experience and examination may work as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC) in environments such as community mental health agencies, career centers, recovery programs, legal systems, educational institutions, churches, medical facilities, or in independent private practice. Qualified graduates of the School of Behavioral Health are given priority interviewing for behavioral health positions with Loma Linda University Health.

Forensic mental health therapist (combined with a licensable mental health degree), Family reunification advocate, Juvenile justice/criminal court social worker (combined with a BSW/MSW), Victim/witness advocate, Correctional Counselor, Juvenile or Criminal Rehabilitation Specialist, Administrator/program director.

Graduates of the PhD program in Systems, Families, and Couples are multiculturally-informed and well-prepared to serve as ethically competent leaders who advance the field of family science in the areas of couple and family therapy and family life education.
