This career opens the doors to many medical and scientific opportunities. The majority of clinical laboratory scientists work in hospitals or similar medical facilities. Some CLSs work in private and government reference laboratories where they may perform specialized testing. Other opportunities exist in public health agencies and laboratories, forensic medicine, home health diagnostics, blood banks and transfusion services, health and patient education as well as in physician's offices and medical clinics. CLS personnel are also employed by medical consulting firms, DNA technology and genetic engineering corporations, research laboratories, medical product development companies, and in health information management systems.

Career options in the field of environmental sciences are diverse and abundant. The Environmental Sciences Program prepares students for entry-level jobs in environmental sciences or GIS fields. Graduates may pursue jobs in the public sector through local, state, and federal agencies such as U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and Department of Fish and Game. In the private sector, graduates may seek jobs in environmental consulting firms, foundations, and organizations. Some examples of career paths that environmental science graduates pursue include environmental engineering, science and social policy, and a wide variety of natural resources management fields such as soil science, forestry, agriculture, watershed science, range management, wildlife conservation, recreation resources, land management, and ecology; landscape architecture, conservation science, geographic information science (GIS), climatology, diverse health sciences; as well as public policy, law, or planning careers.

A baccalaureate degree in geology prepares a student to enter graduate programs in geology or paleontology or health-related programs, or for employment in environmental and energy-related industries; or (with the necessary education courses) for teaching in secondary schools. Most employment opportunities in industry, research, or college teaching require a graduate degree.

Graduates of the BS degree will gain valuable experience and foundational skills to start in a variety of global health roles. Completing this program sets students on a fast track to advanced education, positioning them to also pursue specialized careers through LLU's master's programs. A Surgical Technologist can pursue a variety of career paths within and beyond the operating room. Common roles include assisting in general surgery and in specialties such as orthopedics, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, and obstetrics, where they prepare operating rooms, manage sterile instruments, and support surgical teams. With experience, the Surgical Technologist can advance into positions like Surgical First Assistant, or manager, or educator in surgical technology programs. Additionally, Surgical Technologists may pursue careers in travel assignments, offering flexibility and competitive compensation. Non-clinical opportunities also exist in medical device sales, healthcare recruiting, and training roles, making the Surgical Technologist foundation an entry point for dynamic careers in healthcare.
