About Noreen H. Tompkins, PharmD

Noreen Chan Tompkins, PharmD-AQ ID, BCPS, APH graduated from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy.  She subsequently completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency and Specialty Residency in Anti-Infective Therapy at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP).  While at HUP, she conducted clinical research and provided investigational drug oversight for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group.  In 1993, she transitioned to Allegheny General Hospital/Allegheny Health Network where she worked collaboratively with physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, and hospital leadership in optimizing appropriate antibiotic use through implementation of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and Pharmacokinetics Consult Service.  She served as Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency and adjunct clinical faculty at Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy and University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.  In 2017, she joined Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy in the Deanship administrative role.  In August 2018, she transitioned to the clinical arena at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH).  In her role as the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Pediatric Infectious Disease, she has expanded the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) collectively with Pharmacy Services and the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease.  In 2022, LLUCH achieved Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll gold-level status from the California Department of Public Health Healthcare-Associated Infections Program.
