About Ryan G. Sinclair, PhD, MPH
Dr. Ryan G. Sinclair is a Professor (effective 07/2025) of Environmental Microbiology in the Loma Linda University School of Public Health, holding a secondary appointment in the School of Medicine. A proven institutional leader, Dr. Sinclair serves as the Chair of the new 3-year Global Health Bachelor's degree program and as Chair of the SPH Faculty Council.
His research focuses on Environmental Justice and translational exposure science, specifically mitigating human exposure to pathogens and environmental hazards. He is the Principal Investigator for the LLU Wastewater-Based Epidemiology (WBE) monitoring system and directs the long-running Salton Sea Environmental Time Series—critical community science initiatives for which he received the 2021 Clean Air Scientist Award. Dr. Sinclair actively translates this research to practice, advising the State of California on the Salton Sea Science Committee and consulting directly with LLUH Infection Control on microbial risk assessment in clinical settings.
