About

The University Accreditation Steering Committee provides leadership and coordination for Loma Linda University’s institutional accreditation efforts. The committee guides the University’s accreditation processes with the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and the Adventist Accreditation Association (AAA), ensuring that accreditation activities are aligned with the University’s mission, strategic priorities, and commitment to continuous improvement.

In this role, the committee oversees the assessment processes developed and implemented by the Educational Effectiveness Committee and affiliated committees, helping to ensure that evidence of student learning, institutional effectiveness, and educational quality is systematically collected, analyzed, and used for improvement. The committee is also responsible for developing and coordinating the University’s self-reports for WSCUC and AAA, integrating campuswide input and evidence to present a clear, accurate, and reflective account of institutional performance.

Through these efforts, and by carrying out other responsibilities as assigned by the Provost, the University Accreditation Steering Committee plays a central role in fostering a culture of accountability, reflection, and excellence across the University.
