Classes

  • Noteworthy Continuing Education Classes:  Medical Management of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis.  A 22 hour Medical CE course for Physician given in the first week of December, yearly.  Attended from aproximately 2009 to 2015.   During the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, Dr. Reema Younan requested that we create additional Lab time, called "Open Lab",  on Tuesday Evening from 5 pm  to 8 pm to help the D1 Dental Students make up for Restorative Lab time lost because of the Pandemic.  I volunteered to help teach this "Open Lab" on Tuesday evenings, and the "Open Lab" has become very popular with the D1 students, attracting up to 35 D1 students each week.  In addition to the D1 students who come in for help, the D2 Dental students have generously volunteered their time to come to the "Open Lab" to mentor and guide the D1 students through their Restorative Lab Projects, with up to a dozen D2 Student Mentors volunteering to help the D1 Students each Tuesday evening.  We are very grateful to the D2 students for volunteering their time to help the D1 students. We are also extremely grateful to Course Director Dr. Reema Younan, Chairman Dr. John B. Won, Associate Dean Dr. Mark E. Estey, and Dean Robert A. Handysides for organizing the "Open Lab" and making  it a viable and important teaching aid for our students during, and even after the COVID-19 Pandemic.    (07/2009 - 06/2024)
