About Abel Torres, MD, JD
The department has a very active academic teaching program providing clinical Dermatology rotations for the LLUSM students. It also provides a Residency Program in Dermatology that offers two positions a year and has now graduated 24 dermatologists to date. In addition, the department has one of the first ACGME accredited Procedural Dermatology (Mohs Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology) programs in the nation that accepts 1 Fellow per year, and has now graduated 14 Fellows.
Clinically the Department now offers special expertise in the areas of General Adult Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, Psoriasis and Phototherapy, Procedural Dermatology (Mohs skin cancer surgery), Procedural Cosmetic Dermatology, and laser treatments in Dermatopathology.
