About Jisoo Oh, DrPH
2 Corinthians 12: 9-10
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
I believe I am a flawed and imperfect instrument in the hands of a perfect God. Yet, even in my brokenness, He is able to bring forth beauty, grace, and purpose when I surrender myself fully to His service. The music of life is not in the instrument but in the Artist. When my life feels fractured under the weight of pressure and hardship, I trust that God can still produce something beautiful from it.
God does not shy away from weakness. In fact, He welcomes it because in our weakness, His strength shines brightest. When I come to the end of myself, I find the beginning of God. His grace meets me there, not just to sustain me, but to transform me.
Life is, indeed, 10% what happens to me and 90% how I respond. By God's grace, I choose to respond with faith. The trials and challenges I've faced have shaped me, not by crushing me, but by teaching me to rely fully on God's guidance and provision. Without them, I would not be who I am today.
It is a deep privilege to serve God through my work at Loma Linda University. I remain committed to furthering the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus, not by my own strength, but by the power of Christ that rests upon me.
