About Gloria J. Huerta, DNP, FNP-C, NHDP-BC, AGNP-C, CNS, RN

I have a passion for nursing, emergency medicine, and disaster management as well as education with over 40 years experience in these professions beginning with working as a Registered Nurse (RN) in both the Emergency Department and prehospital setting with Riverside County Fire Department (Cal Fire/CDF) as well as teaching in adult education settings including colleges and universities. I continue my commitment to serve others through patient care and safety as a Family Nurse Practitioner in an Urgent Care and Primary Care as well as my involvement with one of the federal California Disaster Assistance Teams (CA DMAT-2). I volunteer and give back to my community having served as a charter member of the Riverside Community Police Review Commission;  currently serving as a charter member of the Riverside Ethics Board; represented Riverside County District 2 on the Riverside County Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC); contimually serving on the DMAT since 2006; and working in the past as the Safety Officer for the La Sierra Little League.  I have been fortunate too have  taught a variety of healthcare programs including EMS First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, Mobile Intensive Care Nurses (MICNs), LVN prelicensure, RN prelicensure, RN to BSN, EMS Dispatchers, and Physician Assistants. I continue to serve as a preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students. All of these activities allow me to share the gifts and talents that God has given me and to give back to the nursing profession and the community in order to encourage healthcare providers to treat patients and families safely and in a professional caring manner. This means we should always treat others as we want to be treated.  This is so important in all aspects of patient care.
