  • Azure Hills Board Member  I am a board member for my church  (05/2024 - Present)

Committee Membership (LLU)

  • Physician Formation Committee  This committee is lead by Amy Hayton. We work to incorporate topics of DEI, professionalism, whole person care, spiritual care and social drivers of health into the greater medical student curriculum. And integrate these topics more seamlessly so it is valued just as highly to topics viewed as more "high yield" for boards.  (01/2024 - Present)
  • Clerkship Committee  This is headed by Kevin Cordorniz. This meeting consists of all 7 clerkship directors discussing changes to curriculum and addressing student concerns. We also discuss innovations to the 3rd and 4th year curriculum.  (03/2023 - Present)
  • Professionalism Committee  Work on this committee chaired by Grace Oei and headed by Amy Hayton. We work with medical students who have professionalism lapses to understand their struggles and make plans for remediation. We also work to introduce professionalism to the student body in a way that is inspiring and not just punitive.  (10/2021 - Present)
  • Curriculum Committee  This was lead by Daniel Rogstadt and Tammy Shankel. Here I joined other basic science faculty leaders to talk about innovations in our medical student curriculum. I was there as the interprofessional education director and working closely with Matt Fong under the Health Systems Science thread.  (07/2021 - 06/2023)

Committee Membership (non-LLU)

  • Outward Bound Adventure Was a member of their board for the organization. Our work is to support the director as he fulfills the mission of the organization. We aim to change the lives of diverse youth through challenging outdoor learning experiences. As a board member, we approve budgets, attend advocacy meetings in Sacramento and other high importance partnership meetings. As a physician, I am also tasked with identifying ways we can pursue reimbursement from insurance companies for our outdoor experiences (11/2021 - 07/2023) (link)
  • Groundwork USA: Ohio River Valley (ORV) Vice President of the board. Our work for Groundwork ORV is to support the director carry out the mission of the organization. Our work helps to build climate resilient communities in urban locations by employing local youth to engage in community projects. We approve budgets, weigh in on financial opportunities to make sure it aligns with our organization and provide avenue for staff to share work place abuse (none has been reported during my tenor).  (03/2021 - 07/2023) (link)
