About Megan C. Christenberry, BS

My name is Megan Christenberry, and I am a registered dental hygienist, Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP), dental hygiene educator, and clinical instructor. I graduated from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Program in 2015. My passion for dental hygiene was inspired by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives through education, prevention, and compassionate care. This passion has grown to include not just  patient care but also dental hygiene education, where I have the privilege of mentoring and guiding future dental hygienists as they develop their clinical skills, confidence, and professional identity.

As a Registered Dental Hygienist with more than a decade of clinical experience and a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) license, I am passionate about advancing oral health through patient care, education, and community outreach. As a Clinical Instructor and Associate Professor in the Dental Hygiene and Pre-Doctoral Periodontics programs at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, I have the privilege of mentoring future dental hygienists and dentists as they develop the knowledge, clinical skills, and professionalism necessary for successful careers in healthcare.

My teaching philosophy centers on evidence-based practice, critical thinking, compassionate patient care, and lifelong learning. I strive to create a supportive learning environment that challenges students to grow in confidence, clinical competence, and leadership while emphasizing the importance of treating each patient with empathy and respect.

In addition to my work in higher education, I am passionate about public health, preventive care, and expanding access to oral healthcare services for underserved populations. I believe oral health education has the power to transform lives and am committed to preparing future clinicians who will positively impact the health and well-being of their communities. Through clinical practice, teaching, mentorship, and service, I seek to inspire excellence, foster collaboration, and promote a culture of lifelong learning within the dental profession.
