I am an academic nephrologist with clinical, educational, and research interests in advanced kidney disease, frailty, supportive care, hypertension, and whole-person care. My work focuses on improving outcomes for medically complex patients through earlier risk identification, interdisciplinary care, and more effective communication around treatment decisions.
As Associate Program Director of the Nephrology Fellowship, I am particularly interested in education research and curriculum development. I develop and evaluate educational programs in geriatric nephrology, supportive care, clinical reasoning, and visual learning. I am also exploring technology- and AI-supported approaches to medical education, including tools that improve interpretation of kidney biopsy images and make complex clinical concepts more accessible to learners.
My long-term goal is to develop practical, evidence-based models that improve the care of older adults and patients with advanced CKD while strengthening the education, communication skills, and professional development of physicians in training.
