Community Service

  • Volunteer as a Spanish/English interpreter for the COVID-19 Drayson Center Vaccination clinic. (03/2021 - 05/2021)
  • I have volunteered every year to speak to students from the Montessori in Redlands school, ages from 6 to 14, about scientific subjects, including basic cellular biology, the concept of DNA as the carrier of the genetic code, and the scientific method itself.   (01/2014 - 01/2020)
  • Team manager for the Destination Imagination (DI) Program in Redlands.  DI is a non-profit global educational program that creates project-based challenge competitions to foster Scientific, Technical, Engineering, Arts and Math skills. As a volunteer coach within the program, I guide teams of students, aged from 8 to 12 years of age, through the process of using the scientific method to solve technical and engineering challenges at yearly tournaments. These tournaments span 4 months of the school calendar year. (01/2018 - 03/2020)
