Thursday, November 6, 2003 TODAY School of Public Health news SIMS holds island-style open house
The green lawn in front of the Students for International Mission Service's
(SIMS) cottage was transformed into an island for open house on October
16. Tiki torches illuminated the celebration as many faculty and students
gathered to share and learn about each other's experiences. Booths
displayed pictures, cultural souvenirs, and information about mission
trips journeyed to Ethiopia, Bolivia, Honduras, and many other countries.
LLU office of student activities provided island food for everyone as
well.
Throughout the night, a slide show presented pictures from SIMS trips, island
music filled the air, and a drawing was held for giveaways, such as SIMS T-shirts.
Ms. Polycarpe also announced the winner of the photo contest. Andrew Barnett,
second-year medical student, won $100 for his photograph from Ethiopia. [Top] [email this page] Thursday, November 6, 2003 TODAY University
