CERTIFICATE OF Lifestyle Intervention
The Lifestyle Intervention Program Certificate, offered by the School of Public Health’s Department of Health Promotion and Education, prepares participants to accurately assess the health-related lifestyle conditions, practices, and motivation of individuals and community groups in order to help them improve their health through implementation of health-related lifestyle intervention approaches.
Learner outcomes
Upon completion of the DrPH degree program in health education, the graduate should be able to:
- Accurately assess lifestyle practices and conditions.
- Identify and apply appropriate dietary, fitness, and other lifestyle-based interventions.
- Apply principles and methods to help individuals change their lifestyle-related health behaviors.
- Decide when and how to refer individuals to various health care professionals.
- Provide leadership for community-based health promotion projects in selected settings.
Prerequisite
- U.S. baccalaureate degree or its equivalent
- Interview with departmental faculty member
- Two recommendation letters
- Computer literacy or STAT 439

- Completion with GPA of 3.0>
