Assist the American Red Cross in many different areas. You can help teach courses in First-Aid, CPR, Earthquake and Disaster Preparedness, and HIV/AIDS education. Also can volunteer for Health and Safety Fairs, or offer general help in the Inland Empire chapter.

Help with arts and crafts for children with cancer at monthly support meetings, as well as a number of seasonal activities (such as a Kids’ Walk, Christmas Party, and an Easter Egg Hunt in March).

Tutor and mentor elementary students after school. There are several local sites that you can volunteer at. This is for students who can commit to about an hour and a half once a week, can start program anytime though.

Joseph’s Storehouse
Help this organization give food and clothes to the less fortunate. Store hours and meals served to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Also can help out with getting things ready on Monday or Friday.

Loma Linda Little League 2008
Can help as a manager or coach for boys’ baseball and girls’ softball team.  Sign-ups begin in Jan; teams are chosen and practice begins in Feb. The season starts in April.  Games are every Sunday, one night/week.  Season ends first week of June.

LLU Healthcare in Moreno Valley
They are looking for a few volunteers to read to our children in the waiting room.  This would be a participatory read if you will encourage involvement of the children.  Spanish speakers welcome!

This church bags groceries for over 60 outside non-profit organizations on a weekly basis. Students can help with the distribution of these as well as wash buses.

A great way to help tired, stressed parents at the end of a long day is to cook a meal for them. Or use a talent (i.e. cut hair, play a musical instrument) at this home away from home for families of critically ill children. You can also offer support in any of the following areas: office work, yard work, house activities and programs, special events, special projects and more. Ask how you can help.
