Community-Academic Partners in Service

Community Kids Connection (CKC) Saturday

Connect with local San Bernardino kids, LLU students, and community members in singing, biblical stories, games and artistic activities. Many LLU students from different majors are involved in leading a bible stories, outdoor soccer games, craft activities or singing songs. We invite all students to come for themselves and see ways in which they would like to participate.

Purpose:
To provide the children of San Bernardino with a safe place to play and feel free from violence. To encourage and love children by using God’s word and prayer to acknowledge God cares for them. To see that adults can have fun too!

When:
You can volunteer any Sabbath from 9:30 - 12:00 a.m. throughout the academic year.

Why?
  1. Because you enjoy children and love to serve with others.
  2. Because you want to meet more people with big hearts.
  3. Because you miss VBS mission trips.
  4. Because you love to see kids smile.

How you can get involved

As a student, faculty or staff member:

Email Cynthia Ortega or call the CAPS office and leave a message with your name, telephone number and department you are in. Also the Saturday you would like to volunteer for.

As a community partner or alumni:

Please call the office to set up an appointment to meet and fill out some safety requirements before volunteering. We also would like to get to know more about your organization/church/group.
